Meet our Astonishing Alto: Jenet Brümmer #Vox_Tribe

Q: What is your day job?

A: I am an Implementation Consultant at Ghostpractice.

Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir?

A: Almost 15 years.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date?

A: Recording "Kruis van Liefde" in the M1 Studio at the SABC. We worked very hard that day and it was such an emotional experience, but it was well worth it, the end result was epic! That work will forever be imprinted in my brain.🥂

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox?

A: Escaping everyday life and just focusing on making something beautiful with pure God-given talent. It is such a privilege.❤️

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: "Lotus", poem by Breyten Breytenbach and set to music by our conductor, Franco Prinsloo. It was one of the first pieces I rehearsed with Vox Chamber Choir and it is still stunning. Listen to it here:

Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: Finally performing "Kruis van Liefde" in front of a big live audience. People need to hear the magnitude of this work. #get_your_tickets

Q: In which Vox-Tet (our octets) are you?

A: The Fanny Mendelssohn Memorial Voices. Team Yellow💛#Wen_Span

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

A: The ability to turn back time. #Time_Turner

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:

1. Reading - The 5am Club by Robin Sharma;

Q: Name a section in "Kruis van Liefde" that gives you goosebumps every time:

A: "XIV. Dink aan My" - The work is transcending. The way each voice group gets to drive the narrative forward in their own unique way, but working together as a bigger group to convey the message, it gives me goosebumps evertytime. Listen to it here a recording we made in the iconic Voortrekkermonument in Pretoria, South Africa:
