MEET THE VOXIES - A2: Leaine Lindique

Meet our Astonishing Alto: Leaine Lindeque #Vox_Tribe

Q: What is your day job?

A: Home maker.

Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir?

A: Collectively, 15 years. It's been awesome!💥

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date?

A: Performing the world premiere of our conductor, Franco Prinsloo's "Lig van Waarheid" with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in 2022.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox?

A: My music theory, or some resemblance of it, has come back again after I took a break from music to have my two beautiful boys. I experience that growth during every rehearsal with Vox.

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: "Bly by my" by Franco Prinsloo, a setting of the beautiful poem by South African poet, Antjie Krog. It's just the most beautiful love song Franco has ever composed.❤️

Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: New music every day and all the beautiful emotions that come with it...AND the amazing socials, of course.

Q: In which Vox-Tet (our octets) are you?

A: Spanton. I love that crazy bunch! (Team Green💚).

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

A: Invisibility - but with a cloak, so I can take it off.

I don't, for example, wish to be invisible forever. None of the other superpowers appeal to me. If I had to run fast, I would need to carry a water bottle all the time. That's just a shlep. If I were to fly...welI, I already get car sick so I'm not sure how that will go down and if I was, for example, a mermaid, my hair would be wet all the time. I love my GHD, so there's that...So an invisibility cloak is a good option.

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:

1. Reading - Sadly I'm not reading anything at the moment (except my sheet music);

2. Watching - Bridgeton Season 2. Those dresses bring out my creative side.🤩

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in?

A: I love taking photos. Everything photos.📸

Q: Name a section in "Kruis van Liefde" that gives you goosebumps every time:

A: Without thinking twice, I would have to say "Dink aan my". A most beautiful plea for grace and forgiveness.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

A: London. I lived there for a few years, many moons ago, and would go back for any reason at the drop of a hat.😊
