Meet the Voxies: Adine Janse Van Rensburg (S2)

Meet our Scintillating Soprano: Adine Janse van Rensburg #Vox_Tribe

Q: What is your day job?

A: A few side hustles and creative endeavors.

Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir?

A: 10 years.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date?

A: I have a few memorable experiences. I especially reminisce about our 2019 Vox European Tour, where beautiful sounds filled age-old Cathedrals. Here one would experience complete unity with the choir, our conductor Franco, and the audience.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox?

A: Franco's ability to compose and structure music that will stand the test of time and being part of performing this live fit our audiences.

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: "Agnus Dei" - Franco Prinsloo (the big one). This is one of Franco's first compositions. After singing it, I felt so close to the Lord (and also felt like I had just completed a marathon) #sopranohighnotes).

Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: New music, projects and international touring.

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

A: Phasing through matter.

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:

1. Reading - The Other Side of Silence - Andre P Brink;

2. Watching - 90's and early 2000's films (#wifeofafilmmaker).

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in?

A: Watercolour painting and gardening.

Q: Name a section in a piece we perform that gives you goosebumps every time:

A: The ENTIRE "Kruis van Liefde" by our conductor, Franco Prinsloo. What a work!

(Be sture to tune in to Radio Sonder Grense (RSG) on the 2nd of April 2021. Franco Prinsloo's full Oratorio, "Kruis van Liefde" will be broadcasted on Good Friday. I'll let you in on a little secret: we are also filming the whole production!)

Q: List 3 things on your bucket list:

1. Travel the world with my husband;

2. Renovate an old and derelict house (#diygoals);

3. Start sustainable foot-by-foot farming.
