Meet our Brilliant Baritone: Stefan Venter #Vox_Tribe
Q: What is your day job?
A: Civil Designer.
Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir?
A: 15 years.
Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date?
A: The 2019 #Vox_Europe_Tour. Singing in some of the most beautiful places and acoustics Europe has to offer.💥
Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox?
A: Don’t get me wrong, the music is AMAZING. However, my favourite part is the other Voxies. Sharing moments and forming bonds that last a lifetime. It’s definitely something invaluable.🤩
Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir?
A: “Salve Regina” by composer and our conductor, Franco Prinsloo. Listen to it here:
Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?
A: At this moment, sharing Franco Prinsloo’s Easter Oratorio: “Kruis van Liefde” with the world. After that, the prospect of singing new repertoire that our Maestro composes for the choir. It’s a special thing to be part of a choir that has the chance to sing a composition for the very first time, almost every time.🥂
Q: In which Vox-Tet (our octets) are you?
A: Team Sebastian in the Sky with Diamonds. Team Blue💙(Bach for the win!)
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: Super speed.
Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:
1. Reading - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - I am a proud #Rawenclaw💙;
2. Watching - Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Supernatural, Marvel, Avatar the Last Airbender.
Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in?
A: Online gaming, Quiz Nights. I am the Vox Chamber Choir's own #Vox_Koos_Master
Q: Name a section in "Kruis van Liefde" that gives you goosebumps every time:
A: “XXIII. Hy Hang Voor My”. The pain you feel when singing this movement is intense. Sung from the perspective of the soldier beside the cross. The realisation that Jesus was innocent after it’s already too late. And whilst seeing Him on the cross, the growing desperation of the soldier for forgiveness for what he has done. Listen to it here:
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: New Zealand, to watch the All Blacks play rugby live.🏉
