Meet our Brilliant Baritone: Bérn Groenewald #Vox_Tribe


Q: What is your day job? A: Lawyer.


Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir? A: Thirty one years.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date? A: Our Christmas feast, where our "Somerkersfees" video was recorded. I experienced a truly remarkable sense of cameraderie, as one often does when singing in a choir and establishing life long bonds.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox? A: A sense of belonging. Being part of a tribe of which every member is passionate about creating magic.

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir? A: I look forward to perform "Lotus" by our conductor, Franco Prinsloo. It is a spellbinding piece.


Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir? A: Every single rehearsal.

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be? A: Being so full of joy that it would leave everybody that I touch in a permanent state of happiness.

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment: 1. Reading - The body - A guide for occupants by Bill Bryson; 2. Watching - Dark (for the second time).

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in? A: Golf.



Q: Name a part in a piece we perform that gives you goosebumps every time: A: When Hercules and Marelize go at it full taps in "Kruis van Liefde" - Franco Prinsloo.

Q: List 3 things on your bucket list: 1. Attending the Canadian Grand Prix; 2. Catching a Bluefin Tuna; 3. Learning to play the Cello.
