Meet our Astonishing Alto: René Pretorius #Vox_Tribe
Q: What is your day job? A: Industrial Psychologist specializing in Medico-Legal Consulting / PhD-student.

Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir? A: Six or seven years.
Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date? A: The 2019 - Vox European Tour. A very special tour-moment for me was our performance in the breathtakingly beautiful Peterskirche, in Vienna, and the whole choir swimming together in Lake Garda in Italy, surrounded by swans, castle ruins and the Alps.
Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox? A: Apart from the beautiful music maestro Franco Prinsloo composes, Vox has that X-factor; that something special. It's about more than music. We are a family who share not only a talent for singing and an appreciation for choral music, but our lives, hearts and minds. There is always a lot of laughter. I have a saying, " Vox is 'n huis vir my hart ", and I do believe this stands true for every choir member.
Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir? A: It is impossible to select only one work.
1. "Miracle Tree" - Franco Prinsloo; and 2. "Lotus" - Franco Prinsloo, are very close to my heart.
Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir? A: Our international tour in 2022 #vox_european_extravaganza. There are also numerous performances, local tours and choir camps planned for 2021 to look forward to. #excited
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be? A: To enable people to see themselves, life and each other for their potential, and not for what is.
Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment: 1. Reading - The Red and the Black (Stendhal), as well as Giovanni's Room (James Baldwin); 2. Watching - The Handmaid's Tale, Hannibal, Bridgerton.

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in? A: I enjoy playing piano, colouring and dancing.
Q: Name a part in a piece we perform that gives you goosebumps every time: A: "Dink aan My" from "Kruis van Liefde" - Franco Prinsloo.
Q: List things on your bucket list: 1. Completing my PhD, and obtaining a Professorship in Industrial Psychology; 2. Visiting the "La Sagrada Familia", in Barcelona, Spain; 3. To see the "Hall of Mirrors" in the Palace of Versailles, France; 4. To see the Northern Lights; 5. To master the French language; 6. To play Franz Liszt's "La Campanella" (for which you need five hands).
