Meet our Brilliant Bass: Wiehan Havenga #Vox_Tribe


Q: What is your day job? A: Neurotechnologist.


Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir? A: Since primary school! Its an integral part of my life.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date? A: Our "Somerkersfees" video shoot was an extremely intimate experience which I will treasure for years to come!


Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox? A: The awe-inspiring individuals I get to share the stage with.

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir? A: "Kruis Van Liefde" - Franco Prinsloo has, and still continues to have a huge impact on my love of choral singing. The full Oratorio will be recorded and performed this year. #watch_this_space


Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: 2022 - Vox European Tour. I cannot wait!

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

A: Telekinesis (we all grew up wanting to be a Jedi at some point😜).

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:

1. Reading - "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius; 2. Watching - Letterkenny.

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in? A: I'm a huge nerd, so gaming is a daily do: Currently playing "Apex Legends" and "Death

Stranding" by Hideo Kojima.



Q: Name a section in a piece we perform that gives you goosebumps every time: A: In "Kruis Van Liefde" - Franco Prinsloo, in the section: "By die Kruis van Jesus, het Sy moeder

en Sy moeder se suster, Maria, vrou van Klopas, en ook Maria Magdalena gestaan" - the organ plays a low pedal point while the men chants a hauntingly beautiful melody with tight harmonies.

One can barely sing through all the goosebumps.
