Hanni Beyers is one of our Sensational Sopranos, and this is what she has to say about this spectacular upcoming concert:
"Having had the privilege of being one of the founding members of Vox Chamber Choir, I have experienced many special moments as part of this world-class professional ensemble.
One of my favourite music genres is a capella choir music. I am therefore particularly looking forward to our Vox Spring Concert on 3 September as we will only be singing stunning a capella works composed by our conductor, Franco Prinsloo. What an honour to give life to the notes that he puts on paper!
I am particularly looking forward to performing “Deurgrond”, a setting of a text by the Afrikaans poet Totius. In this work Franco manages to completely unite the text with the music, giving voice to our longing as humans experiencing difficult times to find hope and solace in the Lord.
This work, and the many other truly soul-touching pieces we will be performing will truly come to their right in the sublime acoustics and setting of the Voortrekkermonument.
