THE VOX SPRING TEAM ~ Lize van Dorsten (A2)

We are super excited for our Vox Spring Concert | Vox Lentekonsert on Sunday, 03 September at 15:00 in the magnificent acoustics of the Heldesaal of Voortrekkermonument in Pretoria.🌸

Lize van Dorsten is one of our Awe-inspiring Altos, and this is what she has to say about this spectacular upcoming concert:

"Ladies and gentlemen!

Prepare yourself for the magic that is about to unfold!

Featuring our first performance for the new #Vox_Concert_Series at the formidable and one of South-Africa’s most historically rich and treasured buildings - The Voortrekkermonument. Also very well known for its breathtaking acoustic resonance!

As we embark on a new journey almost júst as promising as the new possibilities the new Spring season may bring, we extend a warm and heartfelt invitation to come and enjoy this magical and musical journey with us.

It goes without saying that it is an absolute privilege to be part of Franco’s chamber choir - allowing us the wonderful opportunity to perform his masterful creations, composed with such insight and incredible technical and theoretical genius! What's more, is the way he guides us to interpret these compositions, which furthermore simply amplifies the musical artistry, energy and creativity when performing it.

When I get asked what my favourite work is:

This is an extremely challenging question to answer. Every single composition or beautiful poem set to tone, has a different way of bringing about a kaleidoscope of awe-inspiring emotions. If I had to distinguish, it would be several of the movements from Franco’s Easter Oratorio called: "Kruis van Liefde" we performed earlier this year in March AND the soul-shifting piece, recently composed, just this January called: ‘Seënbede’.

Considering the chosen repertoire, I feel that we are setting out to convey a very specific, but special and sensitive message: One of hope, as well as one of loss and reminding us of our own human fragility, but that still we ALL share a special connectedness in this gift we call 'life'.

I still consider myself a ‘new’-Voxie, as I only recently joined the Vox Chamber Chior in January this year. It has been a phenomenal experience thus far and I’m proud to be part of the Alto 2 voice group. Our low vocal ranges and beautiful harmonies add depth and a certain richness to this wonderful choral ensamble. Go Alto’s!!!🏆

What I most enjoy and fully appreciate about Vox, is the manner of professionalism in which we conduct ourselves as performing choral artists - each in our own right. A definite indescribable and most intimate shared experience!!!

Franco’s music is a true catalyst for unity - a language understood by all.

Take my advice. Get your tickets now to experience all of the above!"
