MEET THE VOXIES - A1: Marelize Horne

Q: What is your day job?

A: I wear many hats. I am a dental practice manager, teacher, as well as a carer.

Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir?

A: As long as I can remember......A wonderful lifetime of singing.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date?

A: Touring Europe in 2019 with Vox was a definite highlight for me, especially being able to sing in the most amazing Cathedrals! #Vox_Euro_Tour

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox?

A: Our passion for making heavenly music together as a group.

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: "Mag die bome groen bly" by our conductor, Franco Prinsloo. The text and music resonates with me on a level I can not express in words. Listen to it here:

Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: For enthralling audiences with our beautiful music. You are all in for a treat. Keep an eye on all our social media pages for more informaiton on our upcoming concerts.

Q: In which Vox-Tet (our octets) are you?

A: I am blessed to be part of "Spanton" - wonderful people! (Team Green).

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

A: To help heal broken hearts and people.

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:

1. Reading - Whatever I can lay my hands on.

2. Watching - Nothing. I have much nicer things to keep myself busy with.

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in?

A: All the C's...Crafting, Crochet, Camping, Children. Above all, spending time with my precious family is one of teh most important thing to me!

Q: Name a section in "Kruis van Liefde" that gives you goosebumps every time:

A: The immensity of this powerful piece is simply overwhelming! I physically can't single out one specific section.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

A: I think we should have a tour to see the Northern Lights. It can only be magical!
