MEET THE VOXIES - T2: TK Masuku

Meet our Terrific Tenor: TK Masuku #Vox_Tribe

Q: What is your day job?

A: I am a Recruitment Consultant specialising within the UK and American Markets.

Q: How many years have you been singing in a choir?

A: Well, the earliest I can remember is from about 7 years old when I joined my primary school choir. On a more mature level, I’ve been in a choir from the age of 15, so it would be about 11 years now.

Q: What has been your most memorable experience with Vox to date?

A: I’m a baby Voxie, so my memory bank isn’t that full yet but, to date my most memorable experience has to be our #Vox_Choir_Camp earlier this year. I found so much more than myself. I found peace and love and a sense of purpose and a community. I found a home.❤️

Q: What do you enjoy the most about being part of Vox?

A: Besides the nail biting, pearl-clutching and heart-stopping music? I think what I enjoy the most, is the coming together of different voices from different backgrounds and being able to share a common experience. Also our social events are top tier.

Q: Which piece is your favourite that you have performed with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: I haven’t performed with the choir yet, but I'm excited to perform "XIV. Dink Aan my" - which forms part of "Kruis van Liefde" that we will be performing on the 15th of March 2023 (next Wednesday #super_excited).

Q: What do you look forward to the most with Vox Chamber Choir?

A: Tough question that one hey!😂 I think what I’m really looking forward to is bringing Franco's music to life and being part of something that’s so much bigger than I am on a professional and world class level.

Q: In which Vox-Tet (our octets) are you?

A: Me??? I am part of the GREEN machine, "SPAN ANTON"!!!💚

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

A: I would have the power to absorb emotions. You never know what someone is going through, so being able to take that pain away would make the world a little better to live in.

Q: What are you reading/binge watching at the moment:

1. Reading - I’m currently reading "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari";

2. Watching - My weight!❤️ I’m joking!😂 Currently I’m busy watching "Record of Ragnarok" on Netflix.

Q: Name another hobby/interest you participate in? A: I am also a hockey player and an avid baker, so if I’m not on stage or at rehearsal, I’m on the field or throwing it down in the kitchen.❤️ Q: Name a section in "Kruis van Liefde" that gives you goosebumps every time: A: "V. Sal Sy graf ooit oop kan gaan?" - Every single time I hear that section in "Kruis", I get goosebumps!😍🙏🏾 Listen to it here:

A: That would hands down be Italy! One day when I get married I want to do a month-long honeymoon, where my partner and I explore the city and make memories! AND eat pizza and pasta of course.❤️
