THE VOX SPRING TEAM ~ Hercules von Molendorff (T1)

We are super excited for our Vox Spring Concert | Vox Lentekonsert on Sunday, 03 September at 15:00 in the magnificent acoustics of the Heldesaal of Voortrekkermonument in Pretoria.🌸

Hercules Hamman von Molendorff is one of our Talented Tenors, and this is what he has to say about this spectacular upcoming concert:

"Vox Chamber Choir is more than a just professional choir, but a true family. It is the place where we can reset and recharge for the next week. This is only further fueled by the absolute majestic music that we get te rehearse on a weekly basis.

Franco Prinsloo has the ability to make the music come alive in ways that very few composers can, and then to be able to conduct that piece of music is such a special privilege for each member of the choir.

With the changing of the seasons, so comes the first concert in our new concert cycle. We look forward to giving music life at the Voortrekkermonument on the 3rd of September for our annual Vox Spring Concert.

My favourite piece from this program is "Ek sal sterf en na my Vader gaan" a poem by Breyten Breytenbach, composed by Franco. It is about Breytens' childhood in the South African town of Wellington in the Western Cape and how, in death, that is where he wishes to return. The combination of the text and music makes this such a joy to listen to and to sing. It is if you are transported into the heart of the Boland and being there with Breyten.

We promise that it is not an event that you will want to miss. From moments of sombre silence to joyous choruses. You will be on the edge of your seat, with the acoustics of the monument only amplifying your experience."
